2. Nature of this service

CDM Tools provides structured, guideline-aligned clinical decision support for use by qualified healthcare professionals in NHS primary care. The tools are based on published NICE guidelines and peer-reviewed clinical trial evidence, including NICE CG182, NG136, NG238, TA739, and associated evidence.

This service:

• Is intended to support, not replace, the clinical judgement of a qualified clinician
• Does not constitute a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or personalised medical opinion
• Is currently in beta and may contain errors or omissions
• Is not a registered medical device — it is a decision support reference tool
• Is intended for use by qualified healthcare professionals only

3. Your responsibilities as a clinician

By using this service, you confirm that:

• You are a qualified healthcare professional acting within your scope of practice
• You will apply your own independent clinical judgement before acting on any output
• You will verify all outputs against current NICE guidance — guidelines are updated periodically and this tool may not reflect the most recent version
• You will review the complete patient record and clinical context before making any clinical decision
• You remain solely responsible for all clinical decisions made in relation to your patients
• You will not use this tool as the sole basis for any clinical decision without independent verification

4. Evidence base and currency of guidance

The clinical logic in this tool is based on NICE guidelines current at the time of publication. NICE updates its guidance periodically. SynaptAI Limited will endeavour to update the tool promptly following material guideline changes but cannot guarantee that outputs reflect the most current NICE position at all times.

Named evidence sources include: NICE CG182, NICE NG136, NICE NG238, NICE TA739, NICE QS208, DAPA-CKD, CREDENCE, EMPA-KIDNEY, FIDELIO-DKD, and SHARP. Users should satisfy themselves that referenced guidance remains current before acting on outputs.

5. No warranty

This service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. SynaptAI Limited makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for purpose of any output generated by the tool.

• Outputs may contain errors — the tool is in beta and under active development
• The service may be unavailable or interrupted without notice
• Logic may be updated, corrected, or revised at any time without prior notice

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SynaptAI Limited shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from the use of or reliance on this service, including but not limited to clinical decisions made on the basis of tool outputs.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Data and patient privacy

This tool processes no patient data on SynaptAI's servers. All computation occurs locally within the user's browser. No patient identifiers, clinical values, or personal data are transmitted to or stored by SynaptAI Limited at any point during normal use of the tool.

• Values entered into the tool exist only in the browser's memory and are cleared when the session ends
• Printed summaries are generated locally by the user's own device
• The clinician's organisation is the data controller for any printed output
• Feedback submissions contain clinical parameters only — never patient identifiers

8. Intellectual property

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this service for any unlawful purpose, to input deliberately false or misleading data, or to attempt to disrupt, copy, or compromise the service or its underlying logic.

10. Changes to the service and these terms

SynaptAI Limited reserves the right to modify, update, or withdraw the service at any time. These terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version.

11. Reporting errors

We actively encourage clinicians to report errors, omissions, or suggestions using the feedback button within the tool. All submissions are reviewed by the clinical lead and actioned appropriately. Confirmed clinical errors are logged in our clinical accuracy register and corrected promptly.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
